In recent years, photovoltaic power generation has become a hot spot for new energy development in Africa, and it has also become a very important part of China-Africa infrastructure cooperation. China-Africa photovoltaic cooperation has benefited more African people, and more and more Africans have lit their homes.

In eastern Kenya, a huge backboard is embedded in the savanna. This backboard is composed of 10 MW photovoltaic panels and is the largest photovoltaic power station in Kenya. The power station has greatly reduced the price of local clean energy.

The villages near the power station witnessed the tremendous changes brought about by the power station. Before the construction of the power station, residents and shops here relied on diesel to generate electricity for lighting, and people rested at sunset. With nothing to do, the residents chose to go out to work. During the construction of the power station, many villagers found jobs and learned techniques. Now every family has electric lights, and the residents' lives are beginning to become richer.

Although a farmer’s thatched house on the outskirts of Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, did not have electricity, he did. The thatched house has several photovoltaic power generation panels, solar controllers and battery packs to solve his electricity problem. The farmer said: Since we have photovoltaic power generation, our family has ended the history of lighting kerosene lamps. Now at night, children can not only read and study, but adults can watch TV and entertain life. It is great to use solar energy.
